Public Relations Work Examples
One of the greatest things about the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication is the experiential learning aspect of each course. In many of my classes, I was creating public relations campaigns or plans that were for real companies and organizations that could then be implemented after the course was completed. I've included some of my past projects below with explanations for each.

This project was a start to finish public communications guide. We selected real clients and interviewed them to see what needs they faced to reach their goals. We created deliverables for the clients including fact sheets, media guides, and sample social media posts. We combined all of these into a designed packet that we could present the client with at the end of the semester. I loved this project because I got to develop my writing skills while doing the graphic design work that I loved already.

I took this course in the Spring of 2020 - what an interesting time to take a health communication course! Our final project was a communication plan for the University of Georgia offering advice for communication and action around COVID-19 for the fall semester. We developed goals for the university's communication and wrote an Op-Ed piece offering our opinions around school operations and athletics for the fall. This was a great real life application to end the class with.

In this course, we had a final group project that was to plan a year's worth of public relations for the on campus radio station WUGA. We started with a situation analysis and worked through the ROPE method to plan for their year. Although we worked together to create the entire project, my main work is featured in the GANTT chart and evaluation sections.
